Social innovation

Two-day workshop for trained designers
29-30 September 2015

CANCELLED

As a trained designer, you can sign up for a two-day workshop in social innovation. The purpose of this workshop is to introduce the concept of social innovation on a practical as well as a theoretical level, focusing on how you can use your vocation to design specific solutions that can create social and societal value and -change.

Your instructor specialises in social innovation, design thinking, and entrepreneurship. The workshop will combine current social challenges, proposed by you and the rest of the class, with theory, methodology, and practice as well as knowledge sharing based on dialogue, and you will be able to network with other trained designers.

What is social innovation? How can designers contribute to solving specific societal challenges and create social value? Which design processes and tools are relevant to the development of concepts that create social value? And what kind of new collaborations and professions are needed?

These questions will be the focal point of the workshop, which will also aim to broaden your knowledge and understanding of the concept and further your ability to communicate the value of social innovation and the mechanisms and processes related to it.

The masterclass begins with a half-day business conference with the participation of companies, organisations, design students and experts.
